Summary :

One of the premiere techno bands of the 90's is at it again with their third full-length effort: "Our Little Secret". Lords of Acid have always been known to have a heavy industrial influence in their songs and with "Our Little Secret," they take an even bigger step towards the industrial. Enough so, that this album would fit better in the "industrial" category than techno.

So, its industrial. So what? Is the music any good? The answer is a resounding YES! The Lord's set themselves apart from generic techno-industrial bands that just string sounds together, adding vocals and a drum loop. They have carefully crafted their songs to have each its own personality. The vocals are much improved over those on their previous effort, "Voodoo-U". Lady Galore takes the oppurtunity to show the quality of her voice as well as how diverse her vocals can be. The songs are overall heavier than previous efforts, with stronger guitars and more creative drum beats. The lyrics are just as you would expect from the Lord's (yep, lots o' sex).

There are a couple downpoints to the album. Namely "Pussy", "Deep Sexy Space", and "Spank my Booty". The lyrics are amusing, but once that amusement wears off, these three songs are very boring, cheesy, and/or annoying. But, with the quality of the rest of the album, we can let these songs slide.

In summary, a great album for all Lords of Acid fans, and a premier album for attracting new fans. The replay value is great. Definitely a must buy.

You'll like Our Little Secret if you like: Fast-paced industrial, possibly. (No specific band comes to mind).
